Be Easy

My younger brother once had a tee shirt that read "Be Easy" and it always made me smile when he wore it. As we inch closer to another election night, deal with inflation and our own personal loss and issues, we must pause to remind ourselves to be easy. What does it mean to be easy? Here's my take.

  1. Rest. Turn off the news, people that are not serving you in the moment and your own need to do everything all at once. Take a seat, turn on some music and drink some tea.
  2. Move Creatively. Sometimes we need to just dance it out to shake things out of the nervous system so that we can return to a state of ease.
  3. Laugh. One of my guilty pleasures is a channel called Dry Bar Comedy. Clean comedy with funny observations about everyday life. You can find it on YouTube.
  4. Release. Last week, I was feeling a lot of big feelings so I went up to my bedroom and from the belly, screamed into my pillow. It was amazing and I highly recommend it.
  5. Community. Talk to, hang out with your friends! True friends are a balm to your soul.
