2022 has arrived!

Here's to a Fresh Start

Happy New Year! I hope that all of you have entered 2022 healthy, happy and hopeful. I began the year doing one of my favorite things: sharing yoga. We did 22 Sun Salutations and broke down what the numbers 11, 22 and 6 signify in numerology -- hint: it's all good! If you would like to do the practice it's available here: https://www.toembodyyoga.com/online_store and the class title is 22 Sun Salutations: A New Year Welcoming. There are also many other classes available in the store so if your goal this year is to practice more Yoga, you now have a resource available. And of course we'll be practicing live on Monday at 12:30 PM and Thursday at 9:00 AM. Please register at https://www.toembodyyoga.com/offerings

What are you hoping to manifest this year? I'll be sharing throughout the upcoming weeks but in this issue, I want to focus on things to do to help save our planet. As many of you know, much of my "yoga family" is out in Colorado where they have once again suffered a wild fire exacerbated by drought. And, yes, one of my dear friends had to evacuate with her family. Luckily, her home was spared and she is now helping her neighbors that weren't as lucky.

So here are a few things that I'm doing (and will do) to help Mama Earth.

  1. Reduce the use of plastic. More fossil fuel is used in the manufacturing of plastics than used in transportation. And of course, most of it is not recycled or recyclable using current technology. It's difficult to go plastic free but you can start by using re-usable sandwich/storage bags, reusable produce and grocery bags, refillable steel or glass water bottles, purchase personal care, supplements and cleaning products not packaged in plastic.
  2. Compost. Luckily, curbside food scrap pick up is being implemented this year diverting food scraps from the landfill and turning it into valuable compost to nourish our soil making our food healthier. Compost also reduces/removes the need for chemical fertilizer that causes detriment to plants, wildlife and people.
  3. Support politicians that understand the severity of the Climate Crisis. This is an election year. Research and support candidates that have an action plan that will create laws and policy to maximize the health of our planet.

Feel free to share your own ideas! We're all in this together.
